Fabric House Mini Album- Tutorial

Hi ladies, did you have a nice Halloween? I sure did, we started celebrating since Thursday and it's nice to finally be able to put away all the Halloween decorations and costumes. Now that I finally have sometime to sit down I'm going to share how to make this beautiful mini.

Step One:
Cut 2- 6x6 pieces of chipboard or thick cardstock
Cut 2- 6x8 pieces of chipboard or thick cardstock
Draw a horizontal line two inches from the top of your 6X8. (You should end up with a square of 6x6. Next draw a ^ on top of your 6x6 square. The mid point should be at three inches.

Step Two:
Using your fabric, rotary cutter and ruler cut 8- 6.5x 6.5 squares. Also cut 4- 6.5x 2.5 rectangles for the front and back of the house. Now using a fabric marker mark on the wrong side of your fabric your square after you centered (this will give you a guide line when you sew your sleeve).  For the square with the triangle on top do the same thing.  Pin one of your 6.5x6.5 square to one of the rectangles right sides together. Then sew only the top horizontal edges that you pinned.  Next pin two squares right sides together, pin two square with the sewn triangle-right sides together etc.  You should now have two sets of squares and two sets of the square with the sewn triangled pinned right sides together.

Step Three:
Sew all your sleeves, leave the bottom part open.  Trim as much as you can off the edges and tips.  Iron all pieces.  Insert your chipboard pieces and sew the bottoms shut.  To make this look more professional making a running stich on all four sides of each pannel. Punch out three circles in each pannel.

Step Four:
 Paint all your chipboards, resins, wood pieces everything you want to use for this mini.  Also, print the picture you are using on printing fabric.  Set them aside.

Step Five:
Make a window by punching out 4 squares then glue a piece of lace and adhere it to the pannel.  Make a planter by cutting a 1/2 x 2 an inch strip of wooden paper. Then add two small pieces of the same paper for the sides.  Using your hot glue fill up most of the planter with hot glue, then add moss and tiny flowers.  Adhere with a glue gun.  Using a punch make a border and adhere.  Then glimmer mist a lace applique and adhere after it's dry.  Cut a Welcome sign with your Cricut, then glam it up with some Martha Stewart Glitter.  Adhere.  Add some Melissa Frances pearls for dimension.

Step Six:
Free draw a door (you can do it), adhere lace around it.  Apply chipboard heart and cut out girl from Melissa Frances paper, or print one out from your computer.  Create and adhere a paper border, apply a piece of lace.  Cut out another image or use a sticker for the wreath.  Glue it to the top of your roof.  Adhere pear strand and a single pearl as a knob.

Step Seven:
Cut and apply a piece of lace to the top, then add your picture.  Cut some flowers from the Madeline K& Co paper.  Adhere the flowers and the chipboard, then add a small piece of lace on the left side of your photograph.  Glue on the large scroll chipboard, then add a paper small flower and pearls from Melissa Frances.  The chipboard scroll and dress form are from The Dusty Attic. 

Step Eight:
Cut a small Doilie in half, then place behind a picture.  Add a scroll shape after you glitter it.  Also, apply some lace under the photo and add some Prima Marketing flowers and a Tim Holtz ticket.  Make a bow out of vintage seam binding adhere to a Dusty Attic Vintage Key and apply to the top of your photo.

Step Nine:
Cut and glitter a scroll shape.  Apply it to the other half of the doillie, then add some pearls to the scroll and a small paper flower.  Adhere then adhere the picture.  Apply some lace and a cut out image .  Add some painted Tim Holtz scrolls a bow made with pearl strand.  Embelish a Prima Flower with coarse glitter and glass shavings.  Adhere. 

Step Ten:
Cut one of your pictures in a circle and adhere.  Cut flowers from Madelline paper and surround the picture.  Add lace around the picture and around the top of the triangle.  Adhere your scroll on the top, I used Dusty Attic scroll (love them!) .  Also, add a small paper rose to the center of your scroll.


Step Eleven:

Cut some ribbon pieces and thread them thru the holes.  Tie them together and that's it, easy!

Fabric house mini album tutorial

Hi ladies! I recently made a fabric house mini album for a challenge at let's get shabby and I got an honorable mention. I had shared with you ladies that I was going to have a tutorial on how to make this mini, so here is the list of items you will need:

Fabric different patterns and colors

Sewing Machine

Cardstock or chipboard

fabric scissors
ruler
fabric marker
pins
printing fabric
embelishments like chipboard shapes, laces, ribbons, buttons, flowers, moss,pearl strands and lace applique
wet glue and hot glue
Tim Holtz distressing paint
Tattered Angels glimmer mist
border punch
Wood paper from Creative Imaginations
Acrylic white and pink paint
 Melissa Frances resin and papers or stickers (you can also print images on regular cardstock)
Pattern Paper

Fly away Butterfly...

Sometimes there are songs that touch you, that make you think, that dear daughter loves...This mini album was based on a song by Miley Cirrus called Fly Away. I wrote the lyrics on the first page and I really hope my daughter follows her dreams and makes all her wishes come true...

This mini was made using Maya Road canvas album and flowers, Divine Design Vintage Garden paper kit, Prima felt branch and chipboard, Tim Holtz alcohol inks, Websters pagers bloomers from the DDK June kit, molding paste and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

Here is what I did:

First, remove the canvas cover then apply molding paste to the inside of the chipboard album and let dry.

Second, Spray canvas cover with Suede, Patina and Lemon grass Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist or TAGMM.

Third, apply Alcohol inks to the Prima chipboards, adhere along with Flowers, Rhinestones and pearls and cut out butterfly.

Fourth, glimmer mist the websters pages blooms with Suede T.A.G.M adhere

Fifth, Glimmer mist the pocket with Patina and Suede T.A.G.M.  Stamp using Staz On and Tim Holtz/Prima Stamps.  Sew on Jennie Bowlin button.  After molding paste is dry (make sure it's really dry) mix about a teaspoon of water and a drop of tea dye distressing ink then brush on the inside of the album.  Stamp and adhere another butterfly...remember this is the main theme.

Sixth, cover your page with Prima Paper, using scrap pieces cut two squares, distresse them and adhere.  Apply some lace after spraying glimmer mist.  Apply the flowers, Tim Holtz swirl and the dollar find metal word after your dab it with tea dye distressing ink.  For the opposite page do the same thing only apply a big flower- I found those flowers at the Fashion District in L.A. I glimmer mist them and distressed them with Tim Holtz inks...

Seventh, cover page with Prima Paper then cut another piece of paper that has flowers.  Adhere.  Paint/distress the chipboard (if you don't have a photo yet just adhere the left side).  Adhere some pearls and butterfly.  On the opposite side just cover with paper.

This page is a little bit more tricky if you never used molding paste.  You got to work fairly fast.  Cover page with Prima paper.  Cut a piece of lace that's slightly bigger than the page.  Apply some molding paste with a brush then add your lace, crunch it...let it dry.  While that page is drying make a small bunch of flowers; I glimmer mist a small bunch of white paper flowers with T.A.G.M in red velvet...

After molding paste is dry...with the help of my embossing gun I sprayed Patina TAGM and tea dye Tim Holtz distressing ink.  Apply pearl strand and distressed metal word.

The pocket was sprayed again with glimmer mist in patina and suede, I then stamped using a Prima stamp and applied a Maya Road velvet flower.

Lastly, distressed the back page with tea dye distressing mixture...

Anticipation Mini Album- June Kit...plus tutorial.

1. Cut and adhere a piece of the out for a stroll paper that is included in the June Anticipation Kit. Adhere lace and pearl. Apply stikles and bloom.

2. Inside page: Cut and adhere a piece of the Puppy Dogs & Pigtails also included in the June Anticipation Kit. Adhere a small square piece of the out on a stroll paper.  Adhere photo.  Cut, puch with a scalloped edge and ink a strip of the out on a stroll paper, adhere. Adhere Melissa Frances resin. Glue a small pearl to the resin.  Add the oval Melissa Frances sticker after you ink it.  Apply Melissa Frances rub on and heart chipboard.  Make holes.

3. Cut, distress and adhere a 5.5 x 5 square of the Arrival paper.  Be Careful when cutting this paper you do NOT want to cut the part of the paper that reads "Your Birthday" on the opposite side.  Cut a 5.5 piece of the lace that's included in your kit.  Adhere.  Cut and glue a small piece of the Puppydogs & Pigtails.  Apply two of the Melissa Frances Playing cards stickers after they have been distressed with distressing inks.  Apply the Melissa Frances sticker to a piece of the out on a stroll paper, trim with decorative scissors.  Apply pearls and bow.  Glue the Melissa Frances glitter heart.  Run a paper flower (included on your kit) on a distressing ink pad, then spray with water or Tattered Angels Irridesent Gold glimmer mist.  Adhere.

4.  Now let's work on our tags.  For the one on the right you need to cover it with the Out on a Stroll paper.  Add photo, lace and pearl strand.  Using one of the playing cards apply a MF rub on, and a flower with a pearl center.  Make a button by punching a 1" circle then two small circles.  Paint, sand and glitter the button.  Add the twill tape found in your kit.

5. For the other tag cover it with  Dreamland paper, stich and distress the edges.  Create a lollipop flower by drawing circles then cutting them and crumbleling the paper.  Add a Websters Pages Sprinkler in the center.  Then draw and cut the leaves, you can also use a cutter if you feel more comfortable.


6.  Cover the page with the Puppydogs and Tails paper.  Cut and punch a small strip of the Out on a Stroll piece of paper, then adhere.  Punch a 1" circle, adhere.  Apply a Melissa Frances rub on.  Adhere two MF glitter hearts and a WP Sprinkler.  Don't forget to adhere your photo before the hearts go on.

7. Using the In Due Time paper, trace and cut a page then cut it in half, horizontally.  Be careful not to cut the flowers in the middle.  Adhere one side showing the flowers and the other side showing the plaid.  Add liquid pearls and rub on.  Add photo.  Cut about 2" of the lace from your kit make a knot in the center and adhere.  Hand cut a little girl from the Puppydog & Tails paper, adhere.  Apply red stickles and let dry.

Mini Album Butterfly

Today I just have a little 6x6 mini album to show you.  I made this mini using the DCWV Mariposa stack.  The Latin Divas over at Scrapbook.com have a swap and I hope I can get them motivaded to participate by showing them a simimar album to the one they will be getting.  For this mini I used many goodies such as Tattered Angels chipboards, Stamps.  Websters Pages lace, Martha Stewart Glitter, Spanish sentiments rub ons (Thank You Jacky), Tim Holtz inks, and embossing powder.  There are many techniques in this little book embossing, masking, inking etc.  The bling on the side I got at a store in southern California and I just fell in love with it! 

Life is a Dream...

Hi! today while talking to one of my friends I realize that there are a lot more things I want to do in this world. Everyday I thank God for having a second chance. I am human and sometimes I do forget to live life to it's fullest and to forget about the little things or unperfect things. I never forget to tell my family that I love them because I never know when I will be gone...with that in mind I made a little book using scraps and the packaging of my new Prima goodies. I used the packages as journaling spots, accent and the main pages for my m.a. Thanks for looking and for the lovely comments.

Products used: Prima packaging, Prima flowers, Prima bling, Prima stamps, Websters Pages stickers, Making Memories stickers, Tim Holtz inks, Tattered Angels inks.

1. Add two strips of Prima paper to a 4x6 piece then using a M.S lace punch punch the ends,  Add Prima and Websters Stickers.

2. Mist Prima chipboard Stickers with Tattered Angels glimmer mist add to cover, add Prima flower and photo.

3. Cut the brackets from a Prima Package adhere to a 4x6 paper, punch the ends using M.S punch.

4. Add Prima Chipboard Stickers, flowers, and say it in pearls.

5. Punch a butterfly out of a small piece of Prima paper using M.S punch. Adhere.

6. Adhere a 4x6 piece of Butterfly Prima Paper, lace and pearls to a Prima package.  Glimmer mist a Prima flower.  Adhere the flower and leaves.  Stamp a cherub using Prima No.2 stamp set on a transparency, cut and adhere.

7. Glimmer mist Prima Felt.  Cut a 4x6 piece of Prima paper and a 3/4 inch of paper adhere to a Prima Package.  Add Prima felt, flower, chipboard and stamp image from the No.2 Prima Stamp set.  Add lace and Making Memories tiny alphabet stickers after inking them.

 

8. Again add a 4x4 to two 1 strip of Prima papers after punching them with M.S lace punch.  Adhere Prima chipboard, stickers, say it in pearls, flower and leaves.  Add a punched butterfly, Websters Pages stickers and a embellished pin.  (Thanks Amy aka Ms. Moey)

9.  After Adding paper to the Prima Package, fold a Prima Say it in Pearls package in half, cover the inside wih Prima papers and use if for journaling.  Apply glue to ONLY half of the back of the Prima Package after adding a piece of ribbon.  Add Prima chipboard, flowers.  Add the pearl strand, Making Meories tiny alphabet.
